10 Most Brutal Acts Of Revenge In Star Trek

4. Star Trek Picard - Stardust City Rag

7 of Nine Revenge Star Trek Picard
CBS

Seven of Nine's return to Star Trek has been hotly anticipated since her first appearance in the Picard trailer. Fans have wondered what her role would be and what her relationship to Picard would be like.

To date, she has appeared in one episode and it has been dark. Icheb, Seven's adoptive son from the Borg, is tortured and flayed for his Borg parts before her eyes. She euthanises him, breaking forever as she does it. Time passes and thanks to Picard's quest, she finds herself before the person responsible.

Seven had initially clashed with Janeway over her approach to situations. She sent violent shocks to the Hirogen, she condemned Species 8472 to death and her human growth was slow. But grow she did, settling into the crew and her humanity.

Yet here, that same Seven who played with Tom Paris on the holodeck, coldly murders a murder, vaporizing her with no remorse. In the context of Stardust City Rag, it makes perfect sense as, in forty minutes, she loses a child, gets wrapped up in a chance for revenge and is given the chance to make it happen. Is this the same Seven of Nine?

Star Trek Picard has shown how time has affected Jean Luc, making him more earnest to do the right thing. But he had a comfy life in his Chateau. Seven had no such luck. This act of vengeance for her is cathartic, it is bold. It is entirely the opposite of what Seven would have done when Voyager returned home. And that's the point.
