6. Rhaegal
The death and resurrection of Viserion was gripping television in Season 7. Unfortunately, Rhaegal’s death was lacklustre by comparison.
Presumably for the sole purpose of shocking the audience, Rhaegal was taken out instantly by the Iron Fleet without any kind of battle.
The emotional punch that should have accompanied such a death was totally lost beneath feelings of confusion. There was no logical reason why Daenerys and her dragons were unable to see the Iron Fleet as they flew high above the ocean.
What’s more, the following episode saw Drogon take down the whole Iron Fleet with no trouble at all. Consequently, this death scene becomes even more disappointing with repeated viewings, as Rhaegal - just like Drogon - would have been more than a match for the Iron Fleet had he been given a chance to fight back.
