10 Most Hated Parks And Recreation Episodes
3. Smallest Park (Season 4, Episode 8)
One of the best parts of the show is Leslie and Ben’s dynamic. They took time with developing the characters' feelings for each other and most of their journey was incredible.
They make an amazing team, supporting each other again and again. Likewise, it’s not often the main character finds their partner early on in a show's run and for those characters to stay together. However, their relationship wasn’t always perfect.
Part of what makes Leslie such a great character is her determination. She never gives up on her goals and that’s what viewers love about her. But in the episode, Smallest Park Leslie goes a bit too far.
We find her struggling with her and Ben’s breakup and she’s doing whatever she can to keep Ben close by. When she learns that their project developing the smallest park in Indiana will be their last working together, Leslie does whatever she can to stall the project. She even holds a public meeting, encouraging residents to protest the park. While we know Ben and Leslie work things out and end up getting back together, watching Leslie act so desperately to keep Ben around is just not the character we’ve come to love by this point in the show.
We've come to expect Leslie to care for others feelings just as much as her own and this departure is a relatively selfish one.
