When Anubis rose to power, it was only after the Goa'uld ascended and returned, but unlike Daniel Jackson (who did the same thing), he retained the knowledge of the Ancients. Anubis used this information to create incredibly powerful weapons, though his superweapon aboard his flagship was the deadliest.

The weapon was powered by six crystals called the "Eyes of the Goa'uld," and it was used primarily to target a Stargate. The weapon was capable of destroying the gate, but with enough excess energy that the resulting explosion was large enough to kill all living things on the planet.

The weapon had other uses, which Anubis was happy to demonstrate to the System Lords he declared war upon. It could arc a massive amount of energy, which acted somewhat like chain lightning. If targeted against a single vessel, it would destroy the ship and move on to another in the area, destroying it as well.

This made Anubis' Superweapon incredibly effective against both planets and fleets of ships. Ultimately, the mothership carrying the weapon was destroyed by Baal when he challenged it with an entire Goa'uld fleet, but by that time, it had already done significant damage throughout the galaxy.
