10 Most Tearjerking Game Of Thrones Moments
4. Jaime's Confession
The odds of Jaime Lannister becoming a well-liked character were low after the first two seasons; the smug git pushed Bran off a tower and crippled him, and was pretty nasty about it to Lady Catelyn the next season.
Perceptions of him started to shift in season three after his road trip with Brienne, where he saves her from a nasty fate and later loses his hand. It was during a bath with Brienne that we finally got a peek into the self-loathing of the dashing knight, when he tells her the story of how he slayed the Mad King Aerys.
He was saving the city with his actions, but since he swore an oath to protect he was instead met with scorn. It’s clear Jaime’s swagger has all been an act and he’s had no choice but to embrace people’s hatred, and he bears the mental scars of his nasty deeds.
Seeing Jaime drop the bravado and open up was a powerful moment, and knowing there was a soul in there the whole time helped fans warm to him a little. The whole Bran thing was still a douche move, though.
