Data totally pulled the trigger on that disrupter.

This was a great step in Data's development, as he is kidnapped by the evil Kivas Fajo and held as part of his exhibition. Guest star Saul Rubinek is excellent as the slimy dealer and jailer, completely removed from the reality of keeping Data against his will.

He murders on a whim, causing Data to come to the conclusion that he cannot be allowed to continue to inflict pain. While Data may claim to Riker that the weapon discharged accidentally during transport, this marks one of the first times that Data shows independent emotion (after the wildly inconsistent first season) and marks a huge turning point in his character.

The Most Toys is an excellent episode that deserves more recognition all these years later!
