8. Jon Snow's Fate Game Of Thrones
While season five of Game Of Thrones was wildly entertaining television, it featured one of the weakest streaks the show has ever seen. The beginning of the season lacked direction and seemed to struggle to fill each episode with interesting content. Nevertheless, it picked up again towards the end of the season and reminded fans all over the world why it's a terrible idea to ever doubt it. Of course, a WTF moment in Game Of Thrones is nothing out of the ordinary, but even this one took many viewers by surprise (viewers who hadn't been spoiled by sniggering book readers, that is). The drought of really memorable moments throughout the season, coupled with some less than stellar material (Sansa's rape and the death of Stannis's daughter drew controversy, and let's not forget the Sand Snakes) lulled fans into a false sense of security. Though Cersei's walk of shame was striking and memorable, few were prepared for the incredibly last minute murder of one of the show's longest-living and most central characters and especially not for him to be finished off by young Olly. As the show does at its absolute best, it prompted the entirety of the internet to exclaim WTF! all at once.
