10 Movies You Didn't Know Were Being Remade As Upcoming TV Shows

1. Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai

One of the TV shows based on a movie that is going to take the animation route is Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai.

The series will be a spin-off of the ‘80s Christmas classic, Gremlins and its underrated 1990 sequel, Gremlins: The New Batch, but instead formatted as a prequel. Set in 1920s Shanghai, it will focus on how the young Mogwai, Gizmo is discovered by the 10-year-old Sam Wing, who will most likely become the Mr. Wong from the original film.

Due to be broadcast on HBO Max, the show will run for 10 episodes. This could be a good move, as HBO Max currently lacks a big, huge show that could be their break-out hit.

Also, with Joe Dante, the director of the original movie, acting as a consultant on the series, this series actually might be quite good.
