10 Nicest Things Bojack Horseman Has Ever Done

2. He Gave A Touching Eulogy At His Mom's Funeral

Bojack's upbringing was nothing short of awful, and his relationship with his parents was simply heartbreaking. Beatrice and Butterscotch both hated each other, and resented Bojack for ruining their lives. They weren't anywhere close to being good parents, and for the most part their son went to great lengths to make sure his mother never forgot this.

As Beatrice's condition worsened toward the end of her life however, Bojack found it in him to visit her, and if not forgive her, at least forget for just a little while. Her funeral takes place in Season 5, and 20 minutes of the episode is filled with nothing but Bojack's eulogy.

His speech is full of emotion, reminiscence, and maybe even a little regret, as one last message to his mother. For Bojack to even turn up was more than anyone would have expected him to do, so to speak for that long about his mother showed that deep down he still cared.

It is an incredibly touching episode, and a testament to the writing, to Will Arnett, and to the show's general ability to tap into incredibly powerful emotions through the medium of a cartoon horse. Of course, it would have been better had he actually been at the right funeral, but the thought and the sentiment were there none the less.
