You Have 0 Friends (Season 14, episode 4)

As Facebook takes over South Park, Kyle takes pity on social outcast Kip Drordy, who after being on the platform for six months is yet to have a single friend. Kip’s ecstatic emotion immediately invokes sympathy. However, Kyle faces trial by social media as his friend stock plummets.

Kip’s parents are overjoyed when they find out their son has a friend. They fail to realise how there is little semblance between a Facebook friend and a real one. Rather than newsfeed browsing and likes, the Drordys believe Kip and his new friend Kyle are “really getting to know each other” at Kyle’s family farm. In reality, Kip is satisfied by the click of a button.

Kyle, unable to endure being an outcast, unfriends Kip. He plummets into an even worse depression than prior to Kyle’s friendship. Despite the root of the episode’s humour being how serious people take Facebook, it is genuinely moving when Kip sees Kyle vanish from his Friends.

Salvation comes in the form of Stan, who after being literally sucked into Facebook, defeats his sentient profile, and transfers his 845,323 friends to Kip.
