10 One-Time Saturday Night Live Hosts Who Should Host Again
3. Betty White
Hosted: May 8, 2010 In what may have been the first instance of internet fans pushing for someone to host Saturday Night Live- with the Facebook group "Betty White To Host SNL (please?) doing the bulk of the campaigning- Betty White made her first- and thus far, only- appearance at center stage at 88 years old, making her the oldest host in SNL's 40 year history. She hosted the Mothers' Day Show, and producer Lorne Michaels brought back several of the more prominent actresses from the shows recent seasons back (including Tina Fey, Rachel Dratch, Amy Poehler, amongst others) and the show ended up being the highest rated of the season. It also earned White her fourth Emmy award (for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series). Could history repeat itself? Her first appearance was over four years ago; White is in her early-90s now, and while she remains busy in Hollywood- hosting the hidden camera/prank show Betty White's Off Their Rockers, starring in TV Land's Hot in Cleveland, and even hosting an episode of WWE's Raw in early 2014- hosting a 90-minute live sketch comedy show is an entirely different entity all-together. But if there is any 90+-year-old that could do it, it is Betty White.
The 'House is a father of two and husband of one in Minnesota. He is an improv comedian, and in his spare time follows WWE, MLB, The Simpsons, and Bob's Burgers. Growing up he was a huge fan of He-Man, and refuses to believe that it was in fact terrible.
