10 Plot Holes You Haven't Noticed In The Arrowverse

6. The Slowest Man Alive

Arrowverse Supergirl Batwoman Flash Arrow
The CW

One of the main problems with The Flash having 22-23 episodes a week is that it runs the risk of highlighting some of its biggest recurring problems. This is usually quite prevalent in the villain-of-the-week episodes as the reliable format is used to allow Barry to learn something about himself or pick up a new skill. But in order to do that, he must lose - something that, most of the time, just comes off as contrived.

There's a reason that the show has relied so heavily on evil speedsters like Thawne, Zoom and Savitar as its main villains, and that's down to the fact that they all possess the same (and in some cases superior) abilities to Barry. But with villains like Peek-A-Boo, Captain Cold, Heat Wave, Golden Glider, Rag Doll and even King Shark, Barry should be able to defeat them in seconds - especially when you factor in how long he's been a hero now.

But The Flash isn't just a tenured speedster, he's the fastest man alive, which means that no amount of ice blasts, punches or even a freakin' banana peel should be able to take him down as long they're directly in his path (or even if they're behind him). At the rate at which he moves, he would easily be able to see, react and dodge anything coming his way... because he's The Flash, damn it!
