10 Plot Holes You Haven't Noticed In The Arrowverse

5. Damien Darhk's Magic

Damien Darhk's powers may have been mystic (instead of magic) but they could magically disappear and reappear whenever the plot required them to. Okay, so remember how Season 4 went down the corny route of Oliver's Felicity-induced positivity and light magic being strong enough to overcome Darhk's dark magic? Well, that was executed somewhat better in the finale when the citizens of Star City showed faith in the Green Arrow - allowing Oliver's pure magic to negate Darhk's powers.

As a hand-to-hand combat between the two foes ensued, Darhk suddenly realized that Cooper Seldon had done the right thing and stopped attempting to destroy the world. And in one quick swoop, he used his powers to send the bullet that had been slowly travelling to his spine to its destination - killing Felicity's ex-boyfriend from a distance.

The only problem is that the positivity of Oliver's light magic had already negated Darhk's powers, so how on earth did they suddenly come back when he conveniently needed them? You could argue that this wasn't directly related to Darhk's fight with Oliver but, given that Seldon was supposed to destroy the world that Oliver was trying to protect, you'd have a hard time proving that one.

Arrow should never have gone down the magic route because it allowed for a multitude of narrative discrepancies and plot conveniences. This right here was an episodic example of both.
