10 Problems With Constantine That Got It Cancelled
4. The Curse Of NBC
That blame can't all be laid at the door of the people who made Constantine, though. They were just a group of people out to make the best show they could; it was NBC who didn't realise that perhaps the market for brooding men surrounded by demons and angels is perhaps a little over-saturated at the moment. Tumblr can only hold so many gifs. NBC isn't really in the business of making good decisions as of late. Or ever. The network's fortunes have been slowly nosediving since the turn of the millennium, occasionally buoyed by surprise hits like the US adaptation of The Office, but just as often dragged down by decisions like carrying that show on for about four seasons too long. At times, NBC seems like it's simply a cursed network. They cancel shows like Community, the likes of Parks And Recreation struggle on for their entire existence, whilst the powers-that-be greenlight obvious duds like Animal Practice, about a monkey who works in a hospital. That is a real show that happened. Constantine never stood a chance.
