10 Reasons Doctor Who Fandom Is The Best In The World

10. The Abundance Of Alternative Media

Doctor Who is, of course, best known for being the longest running science fiction show on television (51 years and still going strong!) but these days it isn€™t just limited to the confines of TV. It also maintains an extremely healthy presence in the form of novels, audio dramas, comic strips... in fact, the list goes on. There are even some fan made movies on various video sharing platforms. No matter the format, Doctor Who seems to thrive. There has always been a variety of alternative media to choose from when it comes to Doctor Who - there were comic strips of the Doctor€™s adventures as early as the 1960€™s but the choices really picked up after the show's 1989 cancellation as a way for fans to continue to enjoy the characters they had come to love. The 1996 TV movie also sparked an increase in Doctor Who spin off media due to the introduction of a brand new Doctor. With the wide variety of media available relating to both classic and modern Doctors, there is guaranteed to be something to pique every Whovian€™s interest.
