10 Reasons Why Better Call Saul Could Be As Good As Breaking Bad

4. The Writing Is Exceptional

Breaking Bad set a new standard when it came to writing for television - from its character development to the razor sharp dialogue, the show represented something of a pinnacle for TV dramas. While there was a chance that Better Call Saul could have turned out to be inferior to Breaking Bad in this respect, with Vince Gilligan, Peter Gould and the rest of the Breaking Bad writing team working on the show, the quality of the writing looks set to remain as high. Indeed, as the first two episodes demonstrate, the scripts are every bit as good - from the set up and payoff revealing Tuco, through to McGill's incredible fast talking both in the courtroom and out, there's strong evidence that it'll be on par with Breaking Bad in the writing stakes.
