6. Its More Autobiographical

Im not saying that there arent moments in The Simpsons that have been inspired by the real lives of the writers, that wouldnt be a fair statement. But South Park is different. Stan and Kyle themselves are, perhaps quite apparently, warped childhood versions of Trey Parker and Matt Stone (Stan is Trey, Kyle is Matt) and plots are lifted sometimes directly from their own experiences. The episode Quest for Ratings for example, is clearly a look at the difficulties they face coming up with new ideas every week. Broadway Bro Down, a warped view of the challenges they faced producing Book of Mormon, their Tony winning musical. The Tale of Scrotie McBooger Balls, a twisted account of what they themselves have done with South Park. South Park has an abundance of these revelatory moments, and not only does it help you to connect with the characters in the show, but to its creators as well. And when that happens, shows go from great to legendary.
