10 Reasons You Should Be Watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine

9. It's Made Andy Samberg Likeable

Before landing the lead in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Andy Samberg had a pretty mixed back-catalogue. He was most famous for his work with comedy group The Lonely Island but hadn't hit mainstream success as a solo performer. His movie roles and bit parts in shows could almost exclusively be characterised as "loud". As Detective Jake Peralta, Samberg has hit a sweet balance between obnoxiously goofy and genuinely endearing. He's the Leslie Knope of this workplace comedy- seemingly a complete mess but, at the end of the day, damn good at his job and passionate about his work. Such is the quality of the performance that he's already won a Golden Globe for the role and parlayed his success into hosting the 2015 Emmys.
