10 Ridiculous Sitcoms You Won't Believe Ever Got Made

2. McGurk: A Dog€™s Life (NBC, 1979)

vlcsnap-2012-11-01-15h50m50s73What€™s About? A group of dogs played by human actors. Envisaged by creator Norman Lear as being like All In The Family (a remake of Til Death Us Do Part) but from the perspective of dogs. Why Is It So Ridiculous The concept itself isn€™t that bad. The world from the perspective of animals is a very rarely done thing and there€™s a lot of offbeat humour you can draw from it. But it€™s the execution of this that makes it so ridiculous. In short: it€™s people running around in rubbish dog suits. At least sitcoms that featured talking animals like BBC3€™s Mongrels had the sense to use puppets or animation. And this drivel is proof of why you should. It looks and feels so ridiculous that it€™s impossible to take seriously as a legitimate comedy. What Happened To It? Only a single Pilot was made and it was never picked up as a series.
