10 Sci-Fi TV Show Mysteries That Can Never Be Solved

5. Pretty Much Everything (Space: Above And Beyond)

A precursor to more successful military sci-fi franchises like Stargate and Battlestar Galactica, Space: Above And Beyond followed the 58th Squadron from the United States Marine Corps Space Aviator Cavalry (which is a name and a half). 58th Squadron, the Wildcats, were out on the front lines against a mostly unseen enemy, the Chigs.

Humanity was in the process of colonising the stars, having fought a war against the Silicates (AI replica humans) while using vat-grown In Vitroe soldiers as grunts. The Chigs attacked and destroyed Earth's first extra-planetary colony with no warning.

There were a lot of interesting ideas in this show, despite its questionable execution of many of them and sorely lacking budget. Due to low ratings, this show didn't last beyond a single season, leaving almost all of its central questions up in the air.

Was there actually an alliance between the Chigs and the Silicates and if so, why? What were the Chig's actual objectives? Was the Aero-Tech Corporation aware of the Chig invasion before the rest of humanity? So many questions, absolutely no answers.

Still bitter that Star Trek Enterprise got canned and almost old enough to angrily tell the kids to 'Get Off My Lawn!'
