10 Sci-Fi TV Shows We'll Be Glued To This Year
1. The Expanse
I'm just going to come out and say this: The Expanse is one of the best science-fiction shows of all time. It's not just the special effects of the show, although anyone who's seen the scene of the ship being taken apart by the proto-molecule over Venus knows how beautiful the vision behind The Expanse is.
The cast is vast enough to cover several factions in-depth, yet never so large you feel overwhelmed by the number of people you have to keep track of. The politics feel real, yet never go into so much detail that it gets boring. The stakes are real as well, and the consequences of those stakes actually play out on the characters across the course of the story.
Even better, the actors are some of the most watchable on television right now. A special mention has to go to Wes Chatham who actually goes to therapy as his character Amos in an attempt to understand why his character would react the way he does, and how to more realistically play that.
With Season 5 coming this year, The Expanse fully deserves to blow up.
