10 Shows You Didn’t Realize Were By Seth MacFarlane

1. Dads

Although many new television series fail to get past their initial seasons, Seth MacFarlane still seems to claim a good bulk of them when it comes to FOX network. In addition to shows like The Pitts and The Winner, Dads was canceled during its premiere season on 7 May 2014, right before its finale on 6 June.

In the sitcom featuring comedian Seth Green, viewers watched (or endured, rather) fictional video game designers Warner and Eli have their lives uprooted when their fathers decided to move in with them. Most of the jokes center around the failed sexual escapades of Green’s character and the racist commentary provided by the fathers, such as Crawford Whittemore.

Dads couldn’t just go out with a quiet death and instead was murdered mercilessly by both regular viewers and critics on the way out.

The show received a big, fat goose egg from Rotten Tomatoes and was deemed “a near total disaster.” Numerous reviewers claimed that the show tried to use the racist jokes to present itself as “edgy," whereas, in contrast, many of the zingers failed to build sympathy for the otherwise “unlikeable” characters. Perhaps it’s best for MacFarlane to turn the other way from the series and never look back.
