10 Star Trek Cliffhangers That Were Never Resolved

3. Will Sisko Ever Get To Meet His Unborn Child?

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine went out on a high. The Dominion War came to a close, Odo returned to his people, O'Brien went back to Starfleet Academy to teach, and Sisko became a god. As you do. It is this that begs the question - if Sisko ascended to become a non-corporeal, non-linear being, then what the hell is keeping him away from his family?

There have been calls for a follow-up to Sisko's story since the final episode of Deep Space Nine aired, but in particular, it is the fate of Sisko's family specifically that interests. Sisko had been a devoted father to Jake for all seven seasons of the show. The news that Kassidy was pregnant was joyous news to him. Behind the scenes, Avery Brooks was always delighted that, through Sisko, he was able to portray a positive father figure, specifically a black father figure as well, at a time when there was not an abundance of examples in the media.

Having him return to become a father again would be the perfect ending to Sisko's story, enough so that it truly begs the question as to why it hasn't already been addressed. This, if nothing else, has to be followed up on in Star Trek.
