10 Star Trek Foods We Wish Were Real

4. Plomeek Soup

While the Klingons feast on their gagh and revenge (served cold), the staid and highly logical Vulcans content themselves with something far less dramatic: plomeek soup.

Also referred to as a broth, plomeek soup is characteristically thin and bland, with a dull green-beige appearance. It is often served cold and is common for any meal of the day. Remarking on its blandness, Neelix once made a spicy red version of the soup; it was peppery enough to get a reaction from the otherwise cool and collected Tuvok.

Plomeek soup says a lot about Vulcans. It’s a vegetarian dish, reflecting the pacifist philosophy many Vulcans pursue, yet in its simplicity, it still requires a great deal of skill to produce exceptionally well. It does not excite the senses but is still a beloved dish even among other races.

After a rousing kanar-soaked night in the holosuites, a little plomeek soup for breakfast might be in order.
