10 Stars Who Turned Down The Simpsons

1. Every Former US President

The Simpsons have made repeated attempts to land a US president as a guest star over the years. Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon, George H. W. Bush, Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford were all offered roles in "Krusty Gets Kancelled". Reagan was the only one of the five who even responded, and he declined. Simpsons screenwriter Al Jean once said: "We still have a nice rejection letter from Ronald Reagan framed." Despite the fact The Simpsons have never snared a US president, serving or otherwise, they have still gotten away with lampooning more than a couple. In 1996 episode "Two Bad Neighbors", George Bush Snr., the 41st President of the United States, upstages Homer by moving in across the street. Homer takes an immediate dislike to George, who likewise isn't too fond of him either, or his son, Bart, who serves as a persistent thorn in his side. After George gives Bart a spanking, Homer starts a prank war, which escalates into a one-on-one confrontation that results in the Bushes leaving Springfield. The episode is said to be revenge for Bush's comments while in office that Americans should be "a lot more like the Waltons and a lot less like the Simpsons". (Source -- Simpsons Wiki)
