10 Things The Arrowverse Wishes It Could've Done Differently

3. Olicity (Arrow)

It was fairly early in Arrow's first season that #Olicity was born. The sparks between Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak soon starting flying and it wasn't long until Arrow's writers gave fans what they were asking for. You can't deny that Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards' have chemistry with each other - Olicity has made for some pretty memorable Arrow moments.

That being said, Olicity quickly became a main focus in the show and things started to go downhill from there - Arrow started to feel like a soap opera. We started spending too much time on the relationship and as a result, other areas of the show suffered. Damien Darhk had the potential to be a great Arrow villain in season 4 but he was sidelined in favour of the on-going Olicity saga.

Even the other core characters have been consumed by the relationship. If Diggle, Curtis, Rene or Dinah are in a scene, you can bet they're probably discussing Olicity. It's unfortunate that we don't spend time with Diggle the way we did in earlier seasons but on top of that, the newer characters feel underdeveloped.

Olicity shines when it isn't the main focus but instead a subtle moment between the chaos - Arrow has lost that. With Emily Bett Rickards' exit, we're not going to see any Oliver and Felicity scenes in Arrow's final season. Despite that, it's likely every episode will still at least mention the pair. They do say absence makes the heart grow fonder. Perhaps season 8 will remind us why we loved this relationship in the first place.
