10 Things We Want To See In The New Batman Animated Series

8. Returning Cast Members

Will JJ. Abrams bring back the old familiars or will this be a whole new look at Batman?

Another secret ingredient to BTAS is the actors. Thanks to Voice Director Andrea Romano, BTAS includes a mouth-watering voice cast that each brought their own to the role and carried these characters through their emotional turmoil. If there was a Mount Rushmore of Batman and his villains, you can't glaze over Kevin Conroy or Mark Hamill. The fact that both managed to really put their stamp on these iconic characters is more than noteworthy and many fans consider both these actors to be instrumental to the canon. The fact that Hamill was advised 'to avoid Nicholson' speaks volumes to his talent and let’s face it, there's never been a laugh quite like his.

Now it's always difficult to imagine anyone else playing your favourite characters and granted, there have been occasions where even Kevin Conroy has passed on opportunities and passed the cape to another. However, with Mark Hamill at 70 and Conroy at 68, it would be logical to look at others to fill the roles; to add their own interpretations to the characters and to take them further. It's a tricky one and who wouldn't want to see the original cast re-unite to capture that lightening in a bottle again? You never know, they may well decide to pay homage - like they did in Beware the Gray Ghost (1992).

The episode explores Bruce's path to becoming the Dark Knight and his influences from childhood with Adam West. The episode really pulls on the heart strings and leaves the audience in awe of hearing and seeing two Batman's work together.

It would be interesting to see how they handle casting and who knows, hopefully we'll get some returning faces.

Max Beaumont hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
