Before being cast as Kara Zor-El, Melissa Benoist was best known for her role on Ryan Murphy's all-singing, all-dancing, all-oh-so-dramatic high-school musical Glee. She was a recurring character in the 4th season, and then bumped up to the main cast for Season 5. It was here she got her big break, but also where she met her future husband, Blake Jenner. Their two characters - Marley and Ryder - were romantically linked at one point in the show, and that chemistry spilled over into real-life. They got married in secret earlier this year, details of which did not emerge until a few months later
