10 Transformers Who SWITCHED SIDES
3. Starscream (Armada)
Megatron's traitorous second-in-command, of course he was going to show up on this list somewhere. This nefarious backstabber has been turning against his side ever since he appeared on screen, but with a near endless array of betrayals and double-crosses, which one to pick?
Although his short lived reign as the godlike king Starscream during Transformers: Cybertron deserves a mention here, he didn't officially switch sides as much as he created his own side. Instead, the best example of Starscream betraying his faction came in Armada.
All through the series the loyal servant to Megatron endures nothing but abuse. As such, he flirts with the idea of turning on the Decepticons albeit simply in the hopes that the Autobots would destroy Megatron for him. However, after surprisingly befriending one of the Autobot's human companions, Alexis, he began to come about to their cause. Yet he retreated back to the Decpticons once again, until finally making a stand after the threat of Unicron emerged.
Believing that the only way for the god of all Transformers could be defeated was for both sides to team up under Prime's leadership, Starscream sacrificed himself, of all things, in the hopes of inspiring the waring factions to come together.
