10 TV Cancellations We're Still Not Over
5. Sense8
Where to start with Sense8? When it came along, it was a shock to Netflix subscribers. With a diverse cast, a unique sci-fi-esque plot and a daring ability to perfectly tackle themes of identity, sexuality, politics, gender and religion, Sense8 ended up quickly wowing audiences and gained itself a second season.
Following a group of strangers across the world who are inexplicably able to connect to one another's thoughts and actions, the show's premise demanded further seasons. Unfortunately, it was cancelled during Season 2 due to low ratings, leading to fan outcry online.
In response to the backlash, a two-hour finale was commissioned to tie up the storylines of the many characters. Though the finale was mostly very good, in that it concluded some of the protagonists' stories, it nonetheless felt rushed and out of place with the rest of the show, and featured enough sub-plots, character interactions and revelations to fill another season or two of episodes.
Unfairly cut down despite being one of the most daring and intelligent dramas on TV, Sense8 was finished. It deserved better.
