10 TV Characters Who Deserved Better

You might think that Jesus' death is the latest in a long list of f**k-ups on The Walking Dead, but in many ways, this is the biggest mistake the show has ever made.

The Jesus character plays a significant role in the comic books which the show is based on, getting involved in the Negan storyline in some pretty fun ways, and showcasing his martial arts moves on any given occasion. What's more, he's about ten times more badass than Tom Payne's TV iteration of the character ever had the opportunity to be, which is nothing short of a sin on the writers' part.

Let's not forget that Jesus was given one of the greatest introductions ever on the hit AMC series but, since then, the writers have given him absolutely no storylines, which is what makes his death so frustrating. With protagonist Rick out of the picture, one would've thought that the writers would've turned to their long list of neglected characters for support, but instead they introduce new ones and then eliminate their greatest asset in Jesus.

While death is a very much a by-product of this post-apocalyptic world in which these characters dwell, from a narrative standpoint, Jesus' demise accomplished absolutely nothing. After waiting years to see the character come to life on the screen, the writers wasted every last drop of potential, in spite of Tom Payne delivering a top-notch performance. Oh Walking Dead, will you ever learn?
