10 TV Characters Who Were Perfectly Cast (The Second Time)

2. Robin Hood - Once Upon A Time

Game Of Thrones
ABC

Known more primarily for his work as The Lord of Hell himself Lucifer Morningstar, Tom Ellis once also introduced us to another well-known presence early on in ABC fantasy adventure series Once Upon a Time.

As Robin of Locksley, Ellis was definitely suitably confident, smooth, and rugged. But by the time the character returned to the fray, audiences quickly forgot about the eventual Devil himself playing the Prince of Thieves as Sean Maguire took up the bow and arrow from Season Three onwards. Ellis wasn't able to return to fulfil the already planned arc for the character due to commitments to other shows at the time.

Quickly becoming a fan favourite, however, Maguire's Hood would earn mainstay status on the show, appearing in over 50 episodes when all was said and done. Again, Ellis' portrayal was solid enough, but Maguire's handsome Hood and electric chemistry with Lana Parrilla's Evil Queen more than confirmed the fact that this show definitely benefited from the age-old pain-in-the-*ss that are those pesky "scheduling conflicts".
