10 TV Mistakes You Can’t Unsee

6. Dr. Marr's Tricorder Troubles - Star Trek: The Next Generation

Okay, yes, it would have been some easy to pluck low hanging fruit if we were to pop any of the many mistakes from the original Star Trek series on this list, particularly when the show was infamous despite its quality for having numerous unfortunately naff gaffes throughout its run.

But Gorn and his rubber suit belong on a meaner spirited iteration of this list, so instead of mocking some poor production designer’s best efforts, we’re taking the high road and roasting some poor actors for failing to use their imaginary technology correctly.

In this infamous instance, it’s poor Dr. Marr of The Next Generation who is falling under our critical eye for a pivotal emotional scene wherein she informs Data of her dead son whilst out on a mission—and the good doctor must be getting emotional, because that would be the only logical explanation for the fact that she’s clearly holding her tricorder upside down whilst trying to use it in this scene.
