Everyone in the entire Star Trek universe should be thanking their lucky stars that Spock is so even-keeled and logical that he rarely gets into a fight. Because he doesn't normally start conflict, but he sure as hell ends it. It makes so much sense when Spock says that the Vulcans used to be a barbaric, war-like civilization, because you can definitely see flashes of that beneath the veneer of the quiet science officer. There are elements of this in the original series, but they signpost it in the recent JJ Abrams films, particularly when Kirk breaks his berserker button and Spock beats him within an inch of his life. He would much rather dispatch his enemies with his brains, but he's equally adept at utilizing a Vulcan nerve pinch when the occasion calls for it. And not for nothing, but he goes toe to toe with Khan after Kirk's best attempts at taking down the baddie were met with little more than mild irritation.
