10 TV Show Characters Who Deserve Their Own Spin-Offs
4. Caesar From Spartacus
Spartacus was one hell of a show for Starz. It outlined the rise and fall of the man who dared to defy Rome itself, Spartacus. Visually it was like 300. Storywise, it was like Gladiator. And historically, it was about as accurate as Disney’s Pocahontas.
But that doesn’t mean we weren’t hooked. And while the series ended with its main storyline wrapped up, the introduction of the character Julius Caesar (Todd Lasance) in the final season left the door open for more.
In the show, Caesar and Marcus Licinius Crassus (Simon Merrells) were able to bring down Spartacus and his army of rebels. However, history tells us that, along with Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus, Caesar and Crassus formed somewhat of an alliance that changed Roman politics for years to come.
Consequently it would be amazing to see Caesar’s rise to fame as he plays the political game of power that made the show so enticing. Lasance portrayed the character as being a brilliant yet rogue soldier with impressive victories under his belt.
He was a hard man to control, and a skilled fighter, leaving many to fear how powerful he would become. Which was rightfully so, as Caesar became one of the most powerful men in Rome due to his political strength and battles won.
Honestly, a series of politics, backstabbing, and war? Who wouldn't be down for another semi-historic and bloody tale of Rome?
