10 TV Shows That Cleverly Foreshadow What Happens

2. Lost - The Entire Premise Of The Show

Lost has received a lot of flack over the years for the way the show concluded, but anyone who was paying close attention shouldn't have been all that surprised. When the series came to a close, it was revealed that the island's representation of good in Jacob and evil in the Man in Black were the principal causes of everything.

Now, while it's no secret that good and evil are often represented by the color white and black respectively, the show foreshadowed the entire plot-structure of the later seasons all the way back in the pilot episode's second part.

While the survivors of the plane crash are trying to recover on the beach, John offered to play a game of Backgammon with Walt, but the young man didn't know how to play. He instructed him as simply as possible by saying, "Two players. Two sides. One is light; one is dark."

That may not seem like foreshadowing, but it absolutely was according to the executive producer and the show's co-creator Damon Lindelof. He's spoken about that very scene and how it foreshadowed the point of the show. "We did know that when Locke referred to the black and the white, that ultimately that concept was going to be personified by two individuals."
