10 TV Shows That Went Way Too Far

3. Negan Introduces Lucille - The Walking Dead

Fans of The Walking Dead comic series knew what was coming, though most were hoping it would be toned down for a TV broadcast. Unfortunately, though, we weren't so lucky, and the deaths of Glenn (Steven Yuen) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) were every bit as bloody, over-the-top and grim as its source material.

If you were to pinpoint the exact moment many fans turned on AMC's zombie hit, you need look no further than the moment Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) takes his bat Lucille and beats "the holy hell" out of Glenn in front of his pregnant wife, in a sequence that lasts about two gruelling minutes. Too far, indeed.

Before the deaths of these two fan favourites, The Walking Dead hadn't exactly been tame, but it had relied on slight realistic touch and subtly, leaving a lot of its nastiest moments to our imagination. With this, it leapt head-first into merciless torture porn, making Negan a threat but the series itself far removed from what it once was.
