Starz's criminally under-appreciated anthology series The Girlfriend Experience is quietly prepping its second season for a November debut, and it's taking a sledgehammer to the established format.
Series two will follow parallel stories, one set in Washington and the other in New Mexico, and Louisa Krause, Anna Friel and Carmen Ejogo have joined the cast.
The Girlfriend Experience is all about sex, lies and video tapes, telling the story of a high-class escort who uncovers a scandal at the law firm she interns at by day.
The first season was boosted by an exceptional performance from Elvis Presley’s granddaughter Riley Keough, but directors Lodge Kerrigan and Amy Seimetz will explore new characters and storylines this time around.
The Girlfriend Experience is based on the Steven Soderbergh movie of the same name, and is actually much better than its big-screen counterpart.
