6. Who Was The Mystery Woman In The End Of Time?
Now this is a mystery that had looked to have been solved, but is now very much up for review. During Tennant's final stint as the Doctor during The End of Time, a mysterious female figure continued to appear before his companion Wilfred. While it was never revealed on screen exactly who this lady was, the theory that she was in fact The Doctor's mother was revealed by show runner Russell T Davies to be true.
However this is another mystery that has been reignited since the stunning reveal in Season 12 that the Doctor was not originally of Gallifreyan origin, but seemingly of another universe. The 'Doctor's Mother' appeared alongside the Timelords during her one appearance, which seems to infer that she is a version Tecteun.
For those who missed The Timeless Children episode, Tecteun was revealed to have found the Doctor as an orphan child, before taking over in a 'Motherly role'. Unfortunately she was more like Norman Bates' mother persona from Psycho, experimenting on the doctor and making him/her endure a number of deaths and regenerations.
This theory however has its flaws, most notably that Tennant's Doctor clearly remembered the lady's face in the brief moment he saw her. With recent revelations, it's even possible the person is The Doctor herself, seeing her face triggering memories from Tennant's Doctor of a past incarnation long thought lost. The internet may just explode if this was in fact the case.
