10 Unlikely Characters Who'd Be Perfect For Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

4. Emony Dax

Dax is one of those characters who is tailor made for prequel appearances. However, the opportunity to include a past host has always been overlooked. Enterprise passed up the chance to have Lela or Tobin show up and neither the Abrams films nor Discovery ever thought to bring in Emony.

But Emony will be featured in an upcoming Discovery novel, Die Standing. So, now might be her time. In the book she'll be getting mixed up in an adventure with Section 31 and Philippa Georgiou. However, unlike Tobin's appearances in Enterprise books published after the show had ended, there is a real chance of Emony making the transition to screen.

While Emony's spy connection might make her a good candidate for an appearance in the upcoming Section 31 show, she would also be a good fit for Strange New Worlds. As a gymnast who is more than she seems, she would be a good character to come aboard the Enterprise and perhaps bring a certain level of danger with her.

While because she's not a Starfleet officer, it doesn't seem like she would ever be a regular, she could function very well as a recurring character. Someone like Vash from TNG, who is outside of Starfleet but has a tendency to get involved with dangerous situations which the crew inevitably get caught up in.

The fun thing about past Dax hosts is that for the most part their characters are unexplored. There has only been the barest glimpse of Emony's personality in the DS9 episode, Facets and apart from what's been said about her by Jadzia and Ezri, there isn't much else known. So, she is an almost completely open character who can be taken in any direction. It's even possible that she could die on the show and that could be a major dramatic moment.

Early Ray Mixon hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
