10 Upcoming Comic Book TV Shows You Need To Know About

3. The Arrow/Flash Spin-Off

Now this one is a little more exciting. Arrow started off as something of a campy guilty pleasure, before finding its feet and developing into a genuinely enjoyable series. Part of that is thanks to the ensemble built around Stephen Amell's angst vigilante archer, which has allowed the world to develop into something rich and interesting, with other DC characters thrown into the mix. It's where Grant Gustin made his debut as super-speedster the Flash before being spun off into his own show, and the Suicide Squad made their first live action appearance too €“ years before that movie that's coming out in 2016. Recently the show has added former Superman Brandon Routh to its expanding roster as shrinking scientist The Atom. Now plans have been revealed to give Routh's Ray Palmer his own show too, possibly teaming him with Arrow's vigilante foil/love interest Black Canary (played by Katie Cassidy) and Firestorm, the nuclear-powered hero who got an origin story in The Flash. It's a rag-tag bunch, but Flash has done well, so why not another spin-off?
