10 Ways Game Of Thrones Has Been "Ruined" Before The Finale

Game of Thrones Golden Company
HBO

With the poor treatment of both The Night King and Cersei, the two main villains of the show, Game of Thrones needed to give some of their other villains a reason to be feared. Unfortunately, in almost all examples, they failed miserably.

The first blunder is Euron Greyjoy. Euron has been a huge waste of potential since the moment he was introduced but his involvement in this season was perhaps the worst of his entire tenure. The most annoying part is that he was given a glimmer of hope by killing Rhaegal, yet the show failed to capitalise by instead having him die at the hands of Jaime Lannister for no good reason in the very next episode.

While we've come to expect this from Euron, the most insulting villain was the Golden Company, the best sellswords in the business and the private militia of the Iron Bank. Much had been made about them, to the point where even Tywin Lannister was afraid of them. The Golden Company we actually got was almost a joke, being decimated before they could even start to fight with their leader running away like a coward. We never even got to see their elephants...
