A movie worked for The Simpsons. Not just in box office success terms, either. After the release of The Simpsons Movie, the show seemed to be rejuvenated, and has been experiencing something of a silver age. It's not classic era Simpsons (the golden age), but it's much better than the dark ages the show went through from seasons 13-19. There's no reason Family Guy couldn't follow a similar path. A big screen adventure would force the writing team to work on at least one coherent story, as a movie would require at least some semblance of a plot that made sense. They did this on a smaller scale with Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story and the Laugh It Up, Fuzzball! trilogy. Maybe it's time to take the next step.
