10 Wildest Battlestar Galactica Fan Theories

8. The Lords Of Kobol Were Aliens

In Battlestar Galactica, the colonists developed a religion that is quite similar to the Pantheistic Greek religion, primarily worshipping the 12 Lords of Kobol, each representing one of the 12 original colonies humanity took over and lost during the second Cylon invasion.

Throughout the show, we learn bits and pieces about the 12 Lords of Kobol, largely through one of the fleet's last remaining priestesses, Elosha, and the discovery of Kobol later in the series.

As with any sort of religious being that is worshipped by humans, there are many theories that the Lords of Kobol may have actually been aliens that came and took humans from their original planet and populated them across several different worlds.

The reasoning behind this theory comes mostly from what little we were able to see of the planet Kobol, and the many "artefacts" left behind by the gods themselves.

These artefacts include the Arrow of Apollo and the Gates of Hera; artefacts even the Cylons don't deny to be real. They simply deny the artefacts to be "divine."

In the end, there is no clear evidence to back this theory up, though it does make a lot of sense, as the humans on the first and second Earth, along with Kobol itself, are never really explained.

How could humanity have left or even gone to any of the Earths, or left Kobol in the first place, without some sort of technological help?
