This fan theory may take a bit of explaining to understand, but it is by far one of the most interesting theories in regards to Battlestar Galactica.

Aphantasia is a mental phenomenon in which a human being is unable to visualize imagery. Basically, it means that someone is unable to see in their mind's eye the face of a close friend or imagine scenarios like a black cat frolicking through some grass under a big oak tree, as the wind blows gently through the surrounding meadow and the clouds move across a relatively clear sky.

This fan theory takes this idea of a mental phenomenon and applies it to every single human living aboard Galactica's fleet. The theory draws upon moments from the series where things such as "imagination" are viewed by the colonists as a divine message, or in Gaius Baltar's case, a dire sign of mental illness.

The theory even compares the Cylons to the colonials, using moments such as the creation of the Blackbird to show that the Cylons are able to have imagination, while humans are only able to see things when near death or after taking dangerous drugs like Chamala.

This theory requires a bit of knowledge about the complex human mind, but it brings an interesting perspective to the humans of BSG, even implying the only reason we in the modern world have imaginations is because of Hera, the part Cylon mitochondrial Eve of modern humans.
