10 Worst Breaking Bad Episodes

4. Open House

Breaking Bad
AMC

The third episode of season four, written by Sam Catlin and directed by filmmaker David Slade, and features arguably the most infamous moment of Marie's time in Breaking Bad.

Open House is another episode that doesn't feature a whole lot of Walt and Skylar, with the pair focusing on buying their car wash as a front for their meth business. Instead, the episode gives a lot of screentime to Hank's continued recovery from his attack by the cousins, and the effects it has on Marie.

Marie's kleptomania comes a bit out of left field, and it was strange watching it unfold over the course of Open House. The scenes were awkward and, worst of all, didn't even amount to anything in the end, with the issue seemingly being dropped the very next episode.

Open House does win some props for the Jesse sections of the episode, showcasing his spiral off the rails after he had killed Gale. The go-karting and all-night parties were some of the hardest-hitting fallouts the show produced over its course, and they do a stellar job in conveying Jesse as the tragic victim every audience member can feel for.
