10 Worst Family Guy Episodes
5. Boys & Squirrels
There's a decent episode in here clawing to make its way out, but it gets shoved right back down thanks to an array of bizarre choices. Seeing the odd pairing of Stewie and Chris nursing a baby squirrel back to health sounds like a fun episode premise, but it gets ruined by the writer's obsession with shock value and old gags.
In "Boys & Squirrels", Peter chops down a tree with a chainsaw, killing a squirrel family and leaving their baby orphaned. Thus, Stewie and Chris decide to raise the little thing themselves, leading to them growing close.
The jokes here are so thin, as it's just rehashes of what you've seen before. For example, Peter dragging out a menial task for a whole minute, Stewie and Chris' relationship being plagued with incest connotations and nothing from Meg or Lois. It certainly won't charm you with fresh humour or witty jokes.
Plus, to make matters worse, Brian comes along and brutally mauls the baby squirrel to death, meaning the emotional crux of the episode is kicked out from under us. The attempt to salvage the outing with a sentimental ending also falls flat, meaning it fails on every level.
