Lucille Bluth is an interesting character because she screws up each of her kids in totally different ways. With Michael, she pressures him to be the only responsible member of the family, but then makes him feel guilty when he refuses to break the rules for her. She makes cruel comments about Lindsay's appearance, systematically lowering her self esteem over a period of years. She smothers Buster, to the point where he is childish and almost entirely dependent on her. And as for Gob? Well, she just doesn't care for him. Add to all of this the fact that she's a barely functioning alcoholic and was complicit in the illegal activities that got the Bluth family in trouble in the first place, and you can see why the group of adult children all need to be in therapy. Let's not forget about her casually adopted Korean son, Annyong -- she doesn't even bother to learn his real name.
