10 Worst Simpsons Guest Stars (Who Played Themselves)

Kill The Alligator And Run is a frequently criticised episode of The Simpsons, largely because it’s a) terrible and b) came at a time when lots of people were still watching. While Dietrich Bader did a decent job as a poor character, Kid Rock’s guest appearance as himself was much worse.

In the show’s defence, having Kid Rock at a spring break concert at least made sense, unlike some other random walk ons. That’s about all you can say if defence of this though.

‘MY NAME IS KIIIIIID, KID ROCK!’ Kid screams as he opens Bawitdaba, and the energy never goes anywhere from there. His lines are simultaneously yelled and lifeless, and it feels less like he’s playing himself than he is a weird parody.

That would be fine of course (many celebrities have parodied themselves before), but there’s just no jokes. Zero.

To be fair though, playing a character is nothing that new for Kid Rock. Despite his appearances, trailer park motifs and tough attitude, Kid was born in a six acre estate, with his music and image being entirely self styled. A talented musician maybe, but not much of a voice actor.
