11 Great TV Characters Who You Never Actually Got To See

3. Dr. Claw (Inspector Gadget)

Doctor Claw

"I'll get you next time, Gadget! NEXT TIME!!!"

The criminal mastermind with the bejeweled claw, Dr. Claw was the arch nemesis of the hapless Inspector Gadget. With an army of evil agents at his disposal, Dr.Claw ran the M.A.D, a S.P.E.C.T.R.E-like criminal organisation. Stealing treasure and robbing banks were some of the many schemes he came up with, but they were mixed with a healthy dash of true 'Bond Villain capers' that would put any hero to the test. Stealing missiles. Creating killer robots. Controlling people's minds through music. Nothing was too daring for this master villain. So given that he had unlimited resources and armies of M.A.D agents, how is it that the bumbling buffoon Inspector Gadget was always able to defeat him? It was all done to Gadget's faithful dog Brian and his genius niece Penny. Together they were able to assist Inspector Gadget in foiling every threat Dr. Claw sends against them. And yet they were willing (Penny at least) to let Gadget take all the praise from Chief Quimby. Such selfless actions from a little girl who saved the world time and time again? She must be up there is the league of great heroines? And of course, one of the things that made Dr.Claw so much fun was that he believed that Gadget was his ultimate enemy. Hiding Blodfeld-like in a mysterious lair with his purring cat, he spent his days dreaming of power and ways to kill the robotic police inspector once and for all. One day he'll get him...but not today! NOTE: The two films went out of their way to make Dr.Claw a real person. But really, did we ever want to see the man behind M.A.D? Not really. He was much more fun when we knew nothing about him...
